mini hounds - maxi love...

since just before christmas
our summer holidays have been filled to overflowing with all things puppy...

oh how quickly they have grown

and found a place in the hearts of everyone here at the creek

boots has taken up the job of watch cat
when the mini hounds are in their day pen in the orchard

...

now at 5 weeks we are starting to talk about how many we can realistically keep
each one is an individual with special qualities

ahhhhck!  I want to keep them ALL!!!!!

we ARE keeping 2 or three.... or.... shhhhh don't tell farmer phil!

We've been interviewing folk for prospective forever homes for the hounds

(ooooo there are some very lucky puppies -
I feel happy about the future of those not staying with us)

(can you tell which puppy has been vying for a 'forever home' with me?)

 sigma -- aka siggy-stardust aka tiggy-tiggy

 oooooo my heart!

  1. Awwwww! I feel the pull of puppies, especially since dear old Toby passed into the unknown last year... we've sensibly decided to wait until a) we have more money and b) we're not going to be travelling around too much. My experience of keeping brothers, though, is.... don't!

    1. I hear you! having multiple puppies of the same age is ... ummmm.... 'challenging' (my am I ever pleased I never had to deal with twins... or triplets.... or *gulp* worse! how do parents do it?) -- one thing that helps out plan (to keep a couple of pups) apart from having a LOT of space is that we have the capacity to keep them in different households.... ahhhhhh the joys of the family farm!

  2. Oh...it's a good thing we live so far apart as your pups are tugging at my heart and I might just submit my name to list of prospective forever homes. Shhh....don't tell my little urchins or they'll go pup hunting.

  4. So sweet! Glad I don't have to give any puppies away. Last week we watched Red Dog and I wept myself dry! Mind you, my dh had to leave the room! (big softie!) I'm never watching that movie again.

  7. There are so many cute adorable puppies... It must be hard to choose and I know you will find good homes for them.
