woo hoo (and small happy dance)

Celebrations and small sighs of relief

as I sent off the draft of my MFA exegesis yesterday

arty-farty fireworks pic from the school's fireworks night last week

I'm not cracking open the bottle just yet mind you -

as I still have a LONG way to go and a LOT of work to do between now and October -

(which is the end date of my candidature and opening of my examination exhibition)

but today I planted 3 little camellia japonicas beside the studio

 just to mark the occasion

(oooo there is light at the end of the tunnel!)

TAG - 13

It started with a string line....

and before too long it grew into ...

 a book spiral

(a book HERB spiral.... with a little pond too)

*you might say this is a more substantial 'gesture'

than most of my previous small offerings

as its now a semi-permanent addition to my studio garden

TAG - 12...

S.O.S.

(Save Our Soils)

22 volumes of Golden Encyclopaedia

arranged on a newly ploughed paddock beside Sams Creek
(one soccer playing son in the distance)

....

TAG - 11

one Encyclopaedia Britannica

a rain shower develops...

an audience appears...

and then a rainbow...

....

what happened next...

last time we met....

 then there was light...

and smoke...

the next day the embers are fanned and burst back to flame...

many days (and a rainstorm) later...

'the ash makes all things equal'

Seneca

TAG - 10...

14 red cloth bound volumes

of State Laws and Ordinances and Sub-ordinances

arranged in a circle

on a rock platform in the middle of Sams Creek
