TAG - 13

It started with a string line....

and before too long it grew into ...

 a book spiral

(a book HERB spiral.... with a little pond too)

*you might say this is a more substantial 'gesture'

than most of my previous small offerings

as its now a semi-permanent addition to my studio garden

i've been musing on the possibility of using surplus tomes as paving 'stones'...

    or

better still, internal house walls :)

  3. Oh so good! Have you seen our Book Wall? It is causing lots of comments when visitors come and makes me smile. We are growing orchids in ours, not herbs, because my Dad loves them. Enjoy! It's finished now,but here are some pics from April...http://rustnstuff.blogspot.com.au/2013/04/the-wall.html; it has weathered beautifully since then.

    1. no I hadn't noticed your wall! now if I'd seen this earlier I could have asked for advice! (we've been making funny bookish garden things for a while, just to see how it all might hold up.... and we've found that building/planting with books is neither as easy nor as fragile as folk might think eh.... )

  6. Wow that's a lot of books used to make your gorgeous herb spiral. You must have a warehouse somewhere on your property to house all these books?
